Meet Rachael

At Rachael Rose Studio, I specialize in creating custom commission paintings that blend surrealism with realism, bringing your imaginative concepts to life through vivid detail and dynamic color palettes. My artwork often explores the beauty of complementary colors and nature-inspired themes, with a special love for floral and botanical subjects. Whether you're envisioning a dark, moody conversation starter, a memorial piece, or your favorite flowers in your grandmother’s vase, I work closely with each client to transform their ideas into a one-of-a-kind, meaningful piece. If you can dream it, I can paint it!

Growing up in a small town in South Dakota has greatly influenced my artistic direction. As a teenager, I began to explore different art styles while spending most of my time outdoors with my cats, frogs, fireflies, and so, so many flowers. I’ve since moved to Colorado with my partner and, of course, my black cat Rango (see pic!). Here, my love for painting has truly bloomed into something spectacular, and I can't wait to breathe life into your ideas, one brushstroke at a time.

My Process

I take the concepts, imagery, and symbols that you have a special connection with—things you love, enjoy, or simply find visually striking—and transform them into a thoughtful, balanced composition that you can proudly display or gift to someone special.

We’ll start with a consultation where you share your vision and the key elements you'd like included. From there, I’ll create a few concept sketches for you to review. We’ll collaborate to refine the design until it feels just right. This artwork is for you, and I want you to love every detail—so your input is not only welcomed, it's essential.

Once the final composition is approved, I’ll transfer the sketch onto a prepped canvas in your chosen size and begin painting. You can choose between a matte or glossy finish.

This process may take several weeks to a few months depending on the size, style, and complexity of the piece. We’ll confirm an estimated timeline after your consultation.

Throughout the painting process, I may pitch new ideas as they come to me—if you'd like to incorporate them, we can absolutely do that! Any additions or changes may affect final pricing, which I’ll always confirm with you before proceeding.

You may choose to preview the finished painting before it's shipped. If you'd like to request final changes at that stage, I’ll happily accommodate them (additional fees may apply based on the scope). Due to the custom nature of my work, refunds are not offered once the piece has been completed, whether it's delivered as a surprise or viewed in advance.

Framing and wire hanging hardware are available upon request and can be included in your quote.
